Museum Of Contemporary Art, Tucson
The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Tucson, Arizona, United States, was founded in 1997, by Julia Latane, James Graham, and David Wright. The museum was founded to create a permanent institution for contemporary art in Tucson's arts district. Originally housed in the HazMat building on Toole Avenue, the museum relocated to the former fire department building on Church Avenue in 2010. History Toole Building In 1992, James Graham, Julia Latané and Dave Lewis founded the Toole Shed Studios under the auspices of the Tucson Arts Coalition (TAC). Raymond Pettibon
Raymond Pettibon (born Raymond Ginn, June 16, 1957) is an American artist who lives and works in New York City. Pettibon came to prominence in the early 1980s in the southern California punk rock scene, creating posters and album art mainly for groups on SST Records, owned and operated by his older brother, Greg Ginn. He has subsequently become widely recognized in the fine art world for using American iconography variously pulled from literature, art history, philosophy, and religion to politics, sport, and sexuality. Emory Douglas (born May 24, 1943) is an American graphic artist. He was a member of the Black Panther Party from 1967 until the Party disbanded in the 1980s. John Armleder
John Armleder (born 1948, in Geneva) is a Swiss performance artist, painter, sculptor, critic, and curator. Drew Heitzler (born 1972) is an American artist best known for his film and video work. Heitzler lives and works in Venice, California. Early life and work Heitzler was born in Charleston, South Carolina. He received his BA from Fordham University in New York City in 1993. Heitzler studied at the Slade School in London before receiving an MFA in studio art from Hunter College in New York in 2000. In 2002, he was an artist-in-residence at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Madison, Maine. George Belcher
George Frederick Arthur Belcher (19 September 1875 – 3 October 1947) was an English cartoonist, etcher and painter of genre, sporting subjects and still life. He was born in London on 19 September 1875 and studied at Bideford Art School and the Gloucester School of Art. Gwyneth Scally (born in Washington, DC) is a visual contemporary artist in New York, United States.
