Musashinonomori Park
is a park in the Musashino región of the Japanese metropolis of Tokyo. Location The park is located in the border area of the cities of Mitaka, Fuchū and Chōfu next to Chōfu Airport and close to Musashino Forest Sport Plaza and Ajinomoto Stadium. The park is a wooded area, with sports facilities and two areas for parking cars. It is administered by the Tokyo Metropolitan Park Association (東京 都 公園 協会). Musashino Plateau
The , also translated as Musashino Platform and also named as Musashino Region, is a large tableland (known as a fluvial terrace) in the Kantō region of Honshu, Japan. The Musashino Plateau is a plateau that extends between the Arakawa and Tama Rivers. Origin It consists of an alluvial fan formed by the ancient Tama River with a layer of volcanic ash on top, many meters deep. The Tama River, which flowed downward as it carved the Okutama Mountains, formed a large alluvial fan with Ōme as the top of the fan. This alluvial fan is the base of the Musashino Plateau, and on it the Kantō Loam Formation is deposited with a thickness of approximately 5 to 15 metre, meters. Chōfu Airport
is an airport located northwest of Chōfu, Tokyo, Japan, west of central Tokyo. It is administered by the Bureau of Port and Harbor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The airport's main commercial activity is New Central Airservice commuter flights to the Izu Islands south of Tokyo. History Plans for Chōfu airfield were made in 1938. Construction started in 1939 and the airport opened in 1941. It had two runways, one of 1000 meters and one of 675 meters. Although it was originally envisioned as a public airport, with the onset of World War II it was exclusively used by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service. Musashino Forest Sport Plaza
The Musashino Forest Sport Plaza is a multi-sport venue located in Chōfu, Tokyo, Japan. The main arena has a seating capacity of over 10,000, and also includes a swimming pool, a gym, a multi-use sports area and two fitness studios, that is available for use by the general public. It is the first new venue completed for Tokyo 2020. Construction took three and a half years and cost over $300 million to complete. Cycling At The 2020 Summer Olympics
The cycling competitions of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo featured 22 events in five disciplines. Cycling competitions had been contested in every Summer Olympics programme since the first modern Olympiad in 1896 alongside athletics, artistic gymnastics, fencing and swimming. Since the 1896 contests which featured five track events and an 87 km road race from Athens to Marathon and back, Olympic cycling had gradually evolved to include women's competitions, mountain bike and BMX to arrive at the current 22 events. The cycling program for this edition was expanded with 4 more events than those held in 2016.
