Murder Of Chen Shijun
The murder of Chen Shijun (Chinese: 陈施君謀殺案), officially called "June 14 Foreign-Related Criminal Case" (Chinese: 6·14涉外刑事案件) is an intentional homicide case in Ningbo, China. On the night of June 14, 2021, Chen Shijun, a 23-year-old female college student from the same university, was raped and stabbed to death in a grove of trees alongside the Shiji Avenue, Yinzhou District, Ningbo. In the early hours of June 15, police arrested a suspect Shadeed Abdulmateen, an American citizen who was an English teacher at the Ningbo University of Technology who told the police that the reason for the killing was due to a "relationship dispute" with him and the victim. Controversy Over Study Buddies For International Students In China
The act of assigning study buddies for international students, practiced by Shandong University, has spurred extensive controversy across Chinese media. As of 2016, Shandong University has announced a study buddy program for international students. According to the announcement, the international students office would assign a Chinese study buddy for the international student. The Chinese study buddy is encouraged to engage in development of language skills as well as general activities with the international student. In 2018, the buddy program got an upgrade. One international student could have up to three Chinese study buddies. For those who applied to the buddy program, 141 of them were Chinese (mostly female), 47 of them were international. Shen Chong Case
The Shen Chong case (), also referred to as the Peiping rape case, was a rape case in 1946 that sparked a nationwide anti-American movement in the Republic of China. It involved United States Marines stationed in China (the "China Marines") allegedly raping a Chinese university student in Peking (Beijing). The case On Christmas Eve, 1946, US Marine corporal William Gaither Pierson and private Warren T. Pritchard stopped Shen Chong, a Peking University student, on her way home and forced her into the Peiping Polo Field.
