Mumbi Maina (born 14 January 1985) is a Kenyan actress known for her role in the soap opera ''Mali''. She is an actor and dancer who has starred in both local and international films since 2009. Mumbi is well known for her role as Zakia in the netflix sci-fi show ''Sense8''. Julia Mumbi Muraga (born January 25, 1984) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in marathon races. She is based in Japan. She made her marathon debut at the 2006 Beijing Marathon but finished outside of the top ten women. She was fifth at the 2007 Nagoya Marathon, fourth at the Sapporo Half Marathon, then won that year's Kobe Half Marathon. At the beginning of 2008 she won the Miyazaki Women's Road Race and came third at the Osaka Ladies Marathon. Muraga made her first international appearance for Kenya at the 2008 IAAF World Road Running Championships and her time of 1:11:11 hours for seventh place was enough to help the Kenyan women to the team silver medals. Ruth Mumbi (born 6 November 1980), is a Kenyan human rights defender who has dedicated her efforts to the defense of vulnerable women at risk. Early life Mumbi was born in Kiamaiko, a slum in Nairobi Kenya. Career In 2010, Mumbi founded and led "Warembo Ni Yes," a group of young women committed to ensuring the passage of Kenya's current constitution. Mumbi is currently the co-ordinator of Bunge La Wamama Mashinani, a women’s chapter of Bunge la Mwananchi founded in 2008. She and Gĩkũyũ were married, and both are claimed ancestor to all the Agĩkũyũ people.
