Mullinahone-CJ Kickhams GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association located in Mullinahone, south County Tipperary, Ireland, close to the border with County Kilkenny. The Mullinahone Club is named in honour of Charles J. Kickham, "Poet and Patriot", who was born in the village. History The Kickhams Club has, for most of its existence - spanning over 120 years - been a traditional Gaelic football club, winning many county senior football championships in the early part of the 20th century. Hurling enjoyed a resurgence in the 1990s, culminating with victory in the County Senior Hurling Championship in 2002. Tipperary Intermediate Football Championship
The Tipperary Intermediate Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised since 1974 by the Tipperary County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association for the second-tier Gaelic football clubs in County Tipperary in Ireland. The series of games are played during the summer and autumn months with the county final usually being played in October. The championship has been played on a regional basis, whereby the respective champions from the Mid, North, South and West championships contested the county series of games. John Leahy (hurler)
John Leahy (born 16 September 1969 in Mullinahone) is a former Irish sportsperson. He played senior hurling with the Tipperary inter-county team from 1988 until 2003. He also represented Tipperary in all grades in Gaelic football. Early life and private life John Leahy was born in Mullinahone, County Tipperary in 1969. He was educated locally in Mullinahone N.S., Ballingarry Presentation Convent and Killenaule V.S. He later worked for United Beverages Group in Kilkenny. He is currently working as a Drug Education Officer with the Health Service Executive (HSE). On 9 February 2005 Leahy was profiled on the TG4 television programme ''Laochra Gael.'' Paul Kelly (hurler)
Paul Kelly (born 14 December 1979) is an Irish hurler who plays for his local club Mullinahone and at senior level for the Tipperary county team. Recently he has transferred clubs to O'Loughlin Gaels club in Kilkenny but since 2010 he has returned to play for Mullinahone. He is noted for his versatility, playing in the backline, midfield and more recently in the forward line. Early life Paul Kelly was born in Mullinahone on the Tipperary-Kilkenny border in 1979. He is the older brother of Eoin Kelly. He was educated locally and attended Scoil Riain Killenaule Vocational School which has produced many Tipperary Hurlers. Playing career Club Kelly played his club hurling with his native Mullinahone with whom he has won one County Senior Hurling medal in 2002. Eoin Kelly (Tipperary Hurler)
Eoin Kelly (born 6 January 1982) is an Irish hurler who played as a right corner-forward at senior level for the Tipperary county team. Born in Mullinahone, County Tipperary, Kelly first played competitive hurling whilst at school in St Kieran's College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of fifteen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor team as a goalkeeper, before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 2000 championship. Kelly had a lengthy career, and won two All-Ireland medals, five Munster medals and two National Hurling League medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on three occasions. At international level Kelly has played for the composite rules shinty-hurling team. The Munster Junior Club Football Championship, formally known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Junior Club Football Championship, is a Gaelic football competition, organized by the Munster provincial council of the Gaelic Athletic Association.
