Mukim Bangar is a mukim in Temburong District, Brunei. It has a total area of ; the population was 2,449 in 2016. The mukim encompasses Bangar, the district's sole town and administrative centre. Name The mukim is named after the town Bangar, which is also the predominant settlement it encompasses. Geography The mukim is located in the north-west of the Temburong District, bordering Mukim Labu to the north, Mukim Batu Apoi to the east, Mukim Amo to the south-east, Mukim Bokok to the south-west and Limbang District in the Malaysian state of Sarawak to the west and north. Limbang
Limbang is a border town and the capital of Limbang District in the Limbang Division of northern Sarawak, East Malaysia, on the island of Borneo. This district area is 3,978.10 square kilometres, and population (year 2020 census) was 56,900. It is located on the banks of the Limbang River (Sungai Limbang in Malay), between the two halves of Brunei. Etymology A settlement along the Limbang River was previously known as "Pangkalan Tarap" where trade activities thrived. The name was derived from a well-known fruit in the Malay community. However, when the settlement was combined with Trusan district and Lawas district, "Pangkalan Tarap" changed its name to "Limbang", naming it after the river on which it is situated. Pandaruan River
The Pandaruan River ( ms, Sungai Pandaruan) is a river that forms an international border on the island of Borneo, between Temburong, Brunei and Limbang, Malaysia. It is located at the river mouth of the Brunei Bay. History On 4 May 1968, the 67 Gurkha Independent Field Squadron of the Queen's Gurkha Engineers built the first road alongside the river. A soil erosion destroyed the road connecting Kampong Belais and Buda-Buda in the early 2000s. The Pandaruan Bridge which is also known as the Brunei–Malaysia Friendship Bridge, crosses the river linking Pandaruan in Sarawak, Malaysia, and Kampong Puni in Temburong, Brunei. The opening of the bridge on 8 December 2013 enabled the vehicular ferry service, which was then the only means for vehicles to cross the river, to be discontinued. Mukim Lamunin is a mukim in Tutong District, Brunei. The population was 4,298 in 2016. Name The mukim could be named after a village it encompasses, Kampong Lamunin. Lat and Munin made up the word Lamunin. Evidently, Lat and Munin both refer to hills, or ''musang'' (fox). Since foxes once roamed the area, Lat Munin, the ancient name, means Fox's Hill or Hill of Foxes. The two names eventually fused to form Lamunin, hiding both their animal origin and link. Gadong is a commercial area in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei.
