Gunachaur is a village in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district of Punjab State, India. It is located away from postal head office Banga, from Mukandpur, from district headquarter Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and from state capital Chandigarh. Nawanshahr is a municipal council in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district in the Indian state of Punjab. It was previously a town that became a district in 1995. History Nawanshahr was founded by migrants from Rahon, a city located near the Sutlej River, which puts it at risk of flooding. They named it Nawanshahar ( pa, ਨਵਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ, lit=New City). Saang ( hi, सांग), also known as Swang (meaning "initiation") or Svang (), is a popular folk dance–theatre form in Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. Balachaur is a town in Balachaur Tehsil in the Nawanshahr district, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar District of Punjab, India, Punjab, India. History Raja Raj Dev, a Rajput, came to Balachaur along with his family to meditate. He was related to the family of the King of Jaipur. He soon named the tehsil after his son, Balraj as "Balachaur".
