Muhammad Usman (cricketer)
Muhammad Usman ( ur, ) (born: 13 October 1985) is a Pakistani-born cricketer who plays for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. He made his first-class debut against the Netherlands in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup on 21 January 2016. Usman's List A debut was also against the Netherlands, in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship, on 27 January 2016. His Twenty20 International debut too was against the Netherlands on 3 February 2016. Usman made his One Day International debut against Scotland on 14 August 2016 in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship. In April 2017, Usman scored his maiden first-class century in round five of the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup against Papua New Guinea. In January 2018, he was named in the United Arab Emirates' squad for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The Ireland cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates in January 2021 to play four One Day International (ODI) matches between 8 and 18 January 2021. The matches served as preparation for Ireland's World Cup Super League fixtures against Afghanistan in the UAE. In the first fixture, the UAE won by six wickets to record their first win against Ireland in an ODI match. The second match of the series was originally scheduled to take place on 10 January 2021. However, following a positive test for COVID-19 within the UAE team, the match was rescheduled for 16 January 2021. Two UAE cricketers had also tested positive ahead of the first ODI match. United Arab Emirates Cricket Board is the governing body of certain cricket activities in United Arab Emirates. It is United Arab Emirates's representative at the International Cricket Council and is an Associate Member and has been a Member of that body since 1990. It is also a Member of the Asian Cricket Council. 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier
The 2019 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament held during October and November 2019 in the United Arab Emirates to determine which teams would qualify for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament. The six teams finishing highest in the qualifier tournament joined Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the first group stage of the 2020 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The tournament formed part of the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier series, with the Netherlands winning the final. In April 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted full international status to Twenty20 men's matches played between member sides from 1 January 2019 onwards. 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup
The 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup was the third edition of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup held in Karachi, Pakistan and Colombo, Sri Lanka. Eight teams participated in the tournament including five under-23 age level teams of Test nations and top three teams from 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier. This tournament was organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Initially, Pakistan was sole host for the tournament but India and BCCI refused to send Indian players to Pakistan. Following the increasing political tensions between India and Pakistan, ACC announced that Sri Lanka would be the co-host whilst India's matches and knockout stage will be played there.
