Ms. Hockey Award
The Ms. Hockey Award is an award given to the best female senior high school hockey player in the state of Minnesota. The award is sponsored by the ''Let's Play Hockey'' newspaper, the Minnesota Wild, and Shakopee Chevrolet. The 2023 award winner was Ella Boerger, a forward from Andover High School. Criteria The following are all criteria for the award: *Academic record *Community service *Coachability *On-ice performance. Selection process The process of selecting the winner starts with the selection of the top 10 candidates in the state. This is reduced to five finalists, and then the panel selects a winner. Winny Brodt
Winny Brodt-Brown (born February 18, 1978) is an American former ice hockey player. She was the first winner of the Minnesota Ms. Hockey Award in 1996. She won a silver medal at the 2000 and 2001 IIHF Women's World ice hockey championships. She played for the Minnesota Whitecaps and was a member when the team won the Western Women's Hockey League championship during the 2008–09 season and the 2010 Clarkson Cup. She was also a member of the Whitecaps when the team won the Isobel Cup during their first year as a member of the Premier Hockey Federation (then the National Women's Hockey League) during the 2018–19 season. Playing career In 1995–96, Brodt led Roseville High School to an undefeated season and the Minnesota state title. She registered 62 goals and 61 assists in 30 games. The ice hockey competitions of the 2022 Winter Olympics was played at two venues located in the Beijing cluster. The ice hockey competitions of the 2014 Winter Olympics were played at two venues, located 300 meters from the other, within the Olympic Park in Sochi, Russia. The Bolshoy Ice Dome, which seats 12,000, resembles a Fabergé egg. The Shayba Arena, seating 7,000, was supposed to be a moveable structure but eventually stayed in Sochi. Sydney Rossman (born May 27, 1995) is American retired ice hockey goaltender, who played with both the Minnesota Whitecaps and the Connecticut Whale of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF).
