Mrs. Fun
Mrs. Fun is an acid jazz/ free jazz duo composed of keyboard player Connie Grauer and drummer Kim Zick. Grauer and Zick are from Waukesha, Wisconsin, but recorded Mrs. Fun's first album in Nashville, where they met the Indigo Girls. They then returned to Wisconsin, moving to Milwaukee. Their most recent album, ''Funsville'', and their 1999 "best of" album appear on Daemon Records, while their previous records were released on their own FunTime Records. Waukesha, Wisconsin
Waukesha ( ) is the county seat of Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. Its population was 71,158 at the 2020 census. The city is adjacent to the Village of Waukesha. History The area that Waukesha now encompasses was first settled by European-Americans in 1834, with Morris D. Cutler as its first settler. When the first settlers arrived, there was nothing but dense virgin forest and wild prairie. The settlers laid out farms, constructed roads, erected government buildings and established post routes. The original founders of Waukesha consisted entirely of settlers from New England, particularly Connecticut, rural Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, as well some from upstate New York who were born to parents who had migrated to that region from New England shortly after the American Revolution. ''No Ennui'' is Mrs. Fun's third album, from 1995. It was produced by Victor DeLorenzo, and recorded by Michael Hoffman at Joe's Recording Studio, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Like all of their albums produced through 1998, it was self-released. The music is a bass-heavy, groove-based free jazz. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime.
