Dariush Mehrju'i ( fa, داریوش مهرجویی , born 8 December 1939, also spelled as ''Mehrjui'', ''Mehrjoui'', Mehrjooi, and ''Mehrjuyi'') is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, producer, editor and a member of the Iranian Academy of the Arts. Mehrjui was a founding member of the Iranian New Wave movement of the early 1970s. His second film, ''Gaav'', is considered to be the first film of this movement, which also included Masoud Kimiai and Nasser Taqvai. Ali Nassirian ( fa, علی نصیریان; born 4 February 1935) is an Iranian actor and director. He has received various accolades, including a Crystal Simorgh and a Hafez Award. Film career He first appeared in a supporting role in Dariush Mehrjui's '' The Cow'' (1969) alongside Ezatollah Entezami, another Iranian actor. Nassirian then played the title role of '' Mr. Naive'' (1970), also by Mehrjui. Ezzatolah Entezami ( fa, عزتالله انتظامی, 21 June 1924 – 17 August 2018) was an Iranian actor. Career Ezzatolah Entezami started his career on stage in 1941 and graduated from theatre and cinema school in Hanover, Germany in 1958. He has been acting in movies since 1969. His debut performance in Darius Mehrjui’s film, '' The Cow'', received the Silver Hugo in Chicago International Film Festival in 1971. He shined in the role of a naive villager who cannot endure the death of his beloved cow and starts to believe that he is the cow himself. Entezami was known as one of the most prominent actors in Iranian cinema and has been labeled as the greatest actor in the history of the cinema of Iran. Fakhri Khorvash
Fakhri Khorvash ( fa, فخری خوروش, born 31 May 1929) is an Iranian stage and film actress and director. She received the best actress award at the Sepas Film Festival in 1971 for her performance in the film '' Mr. Naive''. Life Khorvash attended university intending to train as a doctor. However, she became a teacher in Tehran, at which point she began performing in theatre. In 1948, her role in the play ''Dirty Hands'' (by Jean-Paul Sartre) was acclaimed and she was encouraged to also look at the cinema. Although she performed in the theatre and in cinema in parallel, she was not keen to switch to the silver screen completely in her earlier years. In 1958, she acted in her first film, ''Bohloul''. Although women were already becoming prominent in Iranian dramatics, her decision to take to the stage estranged her from her parents for several years. Mohamad Ali Keshavarz
Mohamad-Ali Keshavarz ( fa, محمدعلی کشاورز; April 15, 1930 – June 14, 2020) was an Iranian cinema and theater actor. Early life He was born on 15 April 1930 in Sichan (neighbourhood), Isfahan. He was the second child of the family of Keshavarz, an artificer family. Career Mohammad Ali Keshavarz graduated from Art School for Acting. He started stage acting in 1960 and began film acting with ''Night of Hunchback'' (1964, Farrokh Ghaffari). He was one of the most experienced and prominent actors of Iranian cinema. He has also appeared in a few television series. Personal life He was divorced and had one daughter who lives in Austria. Keshavarz was hospitalized in August 2011 after a heart attack.
