Movement Of Unitarian Communists
The Movement of Unitarian Communists (, MCU), or simply Unitarian Communists ( it, Comunisti Unitari), was a communist political party in Italy. History The party was founded in June 1995 as a split from the Communist Refoundation Party (PRC) by Communist MPs who had endorsed the vote of confidence in the government of Lamberto Dini (which was also supported by the Democratic Party of the Left, the Italian People's Party and Lega Nord) in March 1995. Most members of the MCU were formerly of the Proletarian Unity Party (PdUP); the PdUP had merged with the Italian Communist Party (PCI) in 1984, only to leave it when the PCI abandoned communism and reformed as the Democratic Party of the Left (PDS) in 1991. At that time most ex-PdUP members joined the PRC. Famiano Crucianelli
Famiano Crucianelli (born 1 January 1948 in Rome) is an Italian politician and surgeon. Biography A graduated in medicine and a surgeon, Crucianelli was one of the founders of '' Il manifesto'', the eponymous newspaper of the political group previously expelled from the Italian Communist Party (PCI). With the Manifesto he participated in the creation of the Proletarian Unity Party for Communism (PdUP), for which he was elected deputy in 1979, taking over from a resigner. He was then elected in 1983 on a PCI-PdUP joint list. He returned to the Chamber of Deputies with the Communist Refoundation Party in 1992 and 1994. In March 1995 he voted the confidence to the Dini Cabinet, along with 14 other PRC deputies who had not accepted the directives imposed by the party. These rebel deputies left the PRC and founded the Movement of Unitarian Communists, of which Crucianelli was leader. The Italian Communist Party ( it, Partito Comunista Italiano, PCI) was a communist political party in Italy. The PCI was founded as ''Communist Party of Italy'' on 21 January 1921 in Livorno by seceding from the Italian Socialist Party (PSI). Amadeo Bordiga, Antonio Gramsci, and Nicola Bombacci led the split. Outlawed during the Fascist regime, the party played a major role in the Italian resistance movement. It changed its name in 1943 to PCI and became the second largest political party of Italy after World War II, attracting the support of about a third of the vote share during the 1970s. At the time, it was the largest communist party in the West, with peak support reaching 2.3 million members, in 1947, and peak share being 34.4% of the vote (12.6 million votes) in the 1976 general election. 1996 Italian General Election
The 1996 Italian general election was held on 21 April 1996 to elect members of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic. Romano Prodi, leader of the centre-left The Olive Tree, won the election, narrowly defeating Silvio Berlusconi, who led the centre-right Pole for Freedoms. For the election, the Northern League of Umberto Bossi ran alone after having left the Berlusconi I Cabinet in 1994, causing a crisis which drove President Oscar Luigi Scalfaro to appoint a technocratic cabinet led by Lamberto Dini, which in turn lost its parliamentary support in 1995, forcing Scalfaro to dissolve the Italian Parliament. Mardin ( ku, Mêrdîn; ar, ماردين; syr, ܡܪܕܝܢ, Merdīn; hy, Մարդին) is a city in southeastern Turkey. Rino Serri (23 January 1933 – 6 April 2006) was an Italian Communist politician. Biography In the mid-1950s, Serri was in charge of the Reggio Emilia Province in the Italian Communist Youth Federation. In 1957 he entered the Central Committee of the Italian Communist Youth Federation and from 3 October 1960 to 29 October 1962, he was the National Secretary. From 1963 to 1969 in the PCI he was provincial secretary of Reggio Emilia. From 4 January 1965 to 1970 he was a municipal councilor in Reggio Emilia. In the seventies he became regional secretary of the PCI in Veneto and in 1979 he entered the Chamber of Deputies. In 1987, he became a Senator and held office until 1992 and then again in 1994 .
