Mount Pritchard
Mount Pritchard is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia 34 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government areas of the City of Fairfield and the City of Liverpool, and is part of the South-western Sydney region. History Mount Pritchard was originally home to the Cabrogal people who occupied much of the greater Fairfield area. In the early 19th century, the land was granted to a number of ex-convicts for farming. Later it was made part of the Male Orphan School Estate. In 1913, land west of Cabramatta Creek and Orange Grove Road previously owned by the Bull family was subdivided into smaller residential lots by a real estate property salesman named Hugh Pritchard, who named it the Cabramatta Park Estate. Mounties Wanderers FC is a professional soccer club based in Mount Pritchard, New South Wales, Australia. They currently play in the NSW League One (formerly National Premier Leagues NSW 2) competition after being promoted at the conclusion of the 2011 season. They were formed in 1978 as Mount Pritchard Soccer Club, changing their name to Mounties Wanderers for the 2008 season after being sponsored by the Mounties Group. The NSW Cup, currently known as the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a rugby league competition for clubs in New South Wales. The competition has a history dating back to the NSWRFL's origins in 1908, starting off as a reserve grade competition, and is now the premier open age competition in the state. The Mounties Rugby League Football Club (sponsored by Mounties Group) is an Australian rugby league football club based in Mount Pritchard, New South Wales formed in 1927. They currently play in the NSW Cup, Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield. Warwick Farm Railway Station
Warwick Farm railway station is located on the Main South line, serving the Sydney suburb of Warwick Farm. It is served by Sydney Trains T2 Inner West & Leppington, T3 Bankstown and T5 Cumberland line services. History The original Warwick Farm station opened on 18 March 1889 as a private platform for William Forrester near the former level crossing on the Hume Highway. It was relocated to its present location in 1943 when nearby Warwick Farm Racecourse was used as a military camp. Previously, a 1.6-kilometre branch line to the racecourse branched off from the Main South line north of the station, and carried special racecourse trains on race days.
