Mount Pleasant is a Canadian rural community located in Prince County, Prince Edward Island. The name "Mount Pleasant" was selected at a public meeting on November 1, 1862, and was formally recognized in ''Place Names of Prince Edward Island'' in 1925. Mount Pleasant has been located in the Municipality of Lady Slipper since 1983. Prince County, Prince Edward Island
Prince County is located in western Prince Edward Island, Canada. The county's defining geographic feature is Malpeque Bay, a sub-basin of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, which creates the narrowest portion of Prince Edward Island's landmass, an isthmus upon which the city of Summerside is located. The geographic division created by Malpeque Bay is informally augmented by a socio-economic division between the more urban East Prince and rural West Prince, although the line of division generally varies. Much of Prince Edward Island's industrial base is concentrated in the eastern part of the county, with three large frozen French fry manufacturing plants, a potato chip manufacturing plant, and an aerospace industry located at a former air force base. Prince Edward Island is an island Provinces and territories of Canada, province of Canada. While it is the smallest province by land area and population, it is the most densely populated. Route 2 (Prince Edward Island)
Route 2, also known as Veterans Memorial Highway and the All Weather Highway, is the longest highway in the province of Prince Edward Island, Canada, at . It is a two-lane uncontrolled access highway that runs nearly the entire length of the province, from Tignish to Souris. Route 2 was recognized as the first numbered highway in the province in 1890, when it opened between Charlottetown and Summerside. It passes through the cities of Summerside and Charlottetown and roughly parallels the former primary railway line through the province, which was abandoned in 1989. The highway was first paved in the 1950s with many upgrades in recent decades.
