Mount Mitchell is a mountain in Clackamas County in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is located southwest of Mount Hood in the Roaring River Wilderness on the Mount Hood National Forest. Clackamas County, Oregon
Clackamas County is one of the 36 counties in the U.S. state of Oregon. As of the 2020 census, the population was 421,401, making it Oregon's third-most populous county. Its county seat is Oregon City. The county was named after the Native Americans living in the area, the Clackamas people, who are part of the Chinookan peoples. Clackamas County is part of the Portland-Vancouver- Hillsboro, OR- WA Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is in the Willamette Valley. The Mount Hood National Forest is a U.S. National Forest in the U.S. state of Oregon, located east of the city of Portland and the northern Willamette River valley. The wilderness area is named after the Roaring River that flows through the area and is a tributary of the Clackamas River. That bill did not pass and the next year several members of Oregon's delegation to the U.S. House proposed protecting the area as well. Cascade Range
The Cascade Range or Cascades is a major mountain range of western North America, extending from southern British Columbia through Washington and Oregon to Northern California. It includes both non-volcanic mountains, such as the North Cascades, and the notable volcanoes known as the High Cascades. The small part of the range in British Columbia is referred to as the Canadian Cascades or, locally, as the Cascade Mountains. Mount Hood
Mount Hood is a potentially active stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc. It was formed by a subduction zone on the Pacific coast and rests in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.
