Mount Matier
Mount Matier is a prominent mountain summit located in the Coast Mountains, in Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, in southwestern British Columbia, Canada. It is the highest point of the Joffre Group, which is a subset range of the Coast Mountains. It is situated east of Pemberton, and northeast of Lillooet Lake. Its nearest higher peak is Mount Weart, to the southwest. The slopes of the mountain are covered by the Matier Glacier on the northwest, Anniversary Glacier on the northeast, Twin One Glacier on the southeast, and Hartzell Glacier to the south. Precipitation runoff from the peak drains into Joffre Creek and Twin One Creek, both tributaries of the Lillooet River. The first ascent of the mountain was made on August 18, 1957, by Dick Chambers, Joe Hutton, Roy Mason, Paddy Sherman, and Cyril Scott, who were members of the British Columbia Mountaineering Club. Joffre Lakes Provincial Park
Joffre Lakes Provincial Park is a class A provincial park located east of Pemberton in British Columbia, Canada. It was established in 1996, when Joffre Lakes Recreation Area (created 1988) was upgraded to park status. Three glacier-fed lakes are located in the park: Lower, Middle, and Upper Joffre Lakes. The rock flour in the water reflects blue and green waves, and gives the lakes a turquoise colour. Joffre Lakes is a popular destination for hikers in the summer and mountain climbers in the winter due to its scenic lakes, glaciers and challenging peaks. In recent years the park's popularity has increased dramatically, creating controversy due to the volume of litter in the park and drivers parking dangerously on the adjacent provincial highway. Recreation The recreation area is accessed from the parking lot along a trail. Mount Taylor is a mountain summit located in the Coast Mountains, in Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, in southwestern British Columbia, Canada. It is part of the Joffre Group, which is a subset of the Lillooet Ranges. It is situated east of Pemberton, and northeast of Lillooet Lake. Its nearest higher peak is Slalok Mountain, to the east. Precipitation runoff from the peak drains into Joffre Creek, a tributary of the Lillooet River. The mountain's name was submitted by Karl Ricker of the Alpine Club of Canada to honor Ada C. Slalok Mountain, originally known as Rex's Pillar, is a mountain summit located in the Coast Mountains, in Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, in southwestern British Columbia, Canada. It is the third-highest point of the Joffre Group, which is a subset of the Lillooet Ranges. It is situated east of Pemberton, and northeast of Lillooet Lake. It is northeast of Duffey Peak and the nearest higher peak is Mount Matier, to the east. Mount Spetch is a mountain summit located in the Coast Mountains, in Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, in southwestern British Columbia, Canada. It is part of the Joffre Group, which is a subset of the Lillooet Ranges. It is situated east of Pemberton, midway between Mount Matier and Slalok Mountain, both one kilometre either side of Spetch. Joffre Peak is a mountain summit located in the Coast Mountains, in Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, in southwestern British Columbia, Canada.
