Mount Logan Wilderness
The Mount Logan Wilderness is a 14,650 acre (59 km2) U.S. wilderness area on the Arizona Strip and is part of the Uinkaret Mountains, a small regional range. It is located about seven miles south of the Mount Trumbull Wilderness. The wilderness is within the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument and is managed by the BLM. Mohave County is in the northwestern corner of the U.S. state of Arizona. As of the 2020 census, its population was 213,267. The county seat is Kingman, and the largest city is Lake Havasu City. It is the fifth largest county in the United States (by area). Fredonia, Arizona
Fredonia is a town in Coconino County, Arizona, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,314. Fredonia is the gateway to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. History Fredonia was laid out in 1886. Its name is said to mean the "land of free women." The town's cemetery has graves dating from the 1880s. The town suffered economically from the re-routing of U.S. 89 in 1960. While the highway previously went through Fredonia, it was re-routed north of the Glen Canyon dam, and the town lost several businesses due to a drop in traffic. Senator Barry Goldwater gave the commencement at Fredonia High School in 1964. Kaibab Forest Products was the major industry in town until 1995, when it closed and laid off 200 workers. Arizona Strip
The Arizona Strip is the part of Arizona lying north of the Colorado River. Despite being larger in area than several U.S. states, the entire region has a population of fewer than 10,000 people. Consisting of northeastern Mohave County and northwestern Coconino County, the largest settlements in the Strip are Colorado City, Fredonia, and Beaver Dam, with smaller communities of Scenic, Littlefield and Desert Springs. The Kaibab Indian Reservation lies within the region. Lying along the North Rim of the Grand Canyon creates physical barriers to the rest of Arizona. Mount Trumbull Wilderness
The Mount Trumbull Wilderness is a 7,880 acre (31 km2) National Wilderness Preservation System, wilderness area located on the Uinkaret Plateau in the Arizona Strip. It is managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The Mount Trumbull Wilderness is north of Grand Canyon National Park and in the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument.
