__NOTOC__ Mount Bundey is a locality in the Northern Territory of Australia located about east of the territory capital of Darwin. The locality consists of land bounded to the north by the Arnhem Highway and to the east by the Kakadu National Park. The locality is named from a hill named Mount Bundey which itself is named after the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Bundey. Its boundaries and name were gazetted on 4 April 2007. The Mount Bundey Training Area, an Australian Defence Force facility, occupies the eastern side of the locality. Electoral Division Of Goyder
Goyder is an electoral division of the Legislative Assembly in Australia's Northern Territory. It was first created in 1990, and is named after George Goyder, the South Australian surveyor responsible for carrying out the first freehold surveys in the area. Goyder encompasses large rural areas south of Darwin, covering 9,770 km², and taking in the towns of Bees Creek, Cox Peninsula, Virginia, Marlows Lagoon and parts of Berry Springs and Humpty Doo. When first created, it was even larger extending south to Pine Creek and east to Jabiru and the whole of Kakadu National Park. There were 5,583 people enrolled in the electorate as of August 2020. Goyder was considered a staunch conservative electorate and a very safe seat for the Country Liberal Party for most of its history. Division Of Lingiari
The Division of Lingiari is an Australian electoral division in the Northern Territory that covers the entirety of the territory outside of the Division of Solomon, which covers Darwin and surrounding areas. The division also includes the Christmas and Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Lingiari includes all of the Northern Territory's remote Indigenous communities, most of whom vote when visited by mobile polling teams during the election campaign. The current MP is Marion Scrymgour, a member of the Australian Labor Party. Scrymgour herself is Indigenous and inherited Tiwi identity from her mother. The locality consists of land bounded in part to the west by the Adelaide River, in part to the north by the coastline of Van Diemen Gulf and in part to the east by the Mary River. The locality was named after the Marrakai pastoral station whose name is considered to be an amalgamation of a local Aboriginal word "kie", meaning river, and a corruption of the English word "Mary", usually used as a woman's first name. Its boundaries and name were gazetted on 4 April 2007. Marrakai is located within the federal division of Lingiari, the territory electoral division of Goyder and the unincorporated areas of the Northern Territory. Burrundie, Northern Territory
Burrundie is a locality in the Northern Territory, Australia. It is located within the Victoria Daly Region, approximately north of Pine Creek. A mining settlement of the same name was established in the area during the late 1880s, but the town was abandoned after 1900. The present day locality consists mostly of rural land holdings and was officially defined in April 2007 for administrative purposes. "Burrundie" is believed to be derived from the local aboriginal name for the area surrounding Mount Wells, a prominent feature in the locality. History The Woolwonga aboriginal tribe claim Burrundie as part of their traditional lands. Recognition of this claim was complicated by a frontier conflict in 1884. The Arnhem Highway is a 227—kilometre highway in the Northern Territory of Australia. It links the mining town of Jabiru, in Kakadu National Park, to the Stuart Highway at a point 35 kilometres south of Darwin. The Hundred of Bundey () was a Hundred (county division)#Australia, hundred within County of Disraeli in the Northern Territory of Australia. The hundred was gazetted on 7 August 1884 and lapsed with the passage in 1976 and subsequent assent of the Crown Lands Ordinance 1976 (No. 1 of 1977) and the Crown Lands (Validation of Proclamations) Ordinance 1976 (No. 2 of 1977).
