Motswedi Modiba
Motswedi Modiba (born 1997), is a South African R&B singer-songwriter born and raised in Tshwane best known under the alias of MOE. (stylized in all uppercase). She is best known for her debut single "It Was a Vibe" with guest appearance from JR which accumulated over 35 000 streams across Africa, the United States and Europe. In 2023, Modiba took home a Metro FM Music Award for Best New Age R&B Act, however the award was received by her parents as she was preparing for her exams at the Manhattan School of Music in the New York City. After returning to South Africa, she furthered her studies at Wits University where she was also a back up singer for Dr Tumi. She is fluent in Mandarin as she attended a Chinese school in Pretoria and earned herself a scholarship to study Chinese literature in China. The City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality (also known as the City of Tshwane) () is the metropolitan municipality that forms the local government of northern Gauteng Province, South Africa. Metro FM Music Awards
The 15th installment of the annual Metro FM Music Awards is an award ceremony that celebrates excellence in the South African music industry by honouring musicians who did exceedingly well in their field throughout 2015. The show first aired on SABC 1 on February 27, 2016. The winner in each category will receive a R100,000 prize for each category they win. Metro FM is investing in musicians; building wealth and benefiting financially from their trade over and above the artistic recognition that comes with the MMA's coveted statuette. This will be the first installment of the award show to include a new category, namely the Pan-African Category. Nathi and Sphectacular & DJ Naves led the nominations with five each, followed by Riky Rick and Emtee with four nominations each, and AKA, Fifi Cooper and Black Coffee with three nominations each. Pretoria Chinese School
Pretoria Chinese School is a school in Wingate Park, Eastern Pretoria, established in 1934. History In order to preserve their culture and provide quality education for their children, the Young Chinese Cultural league and the Chinese Community of Pretoria established the Pretoria Chinese School in downtown Pretoria in 1934. In 1993 the school was relocated to the Eastern Pretoria suburb of Wingate Park, with new school facilities including a laboratory and 27 classrooms. The relocated school initially offered Grades 1–9, but with each subsequent year expanded their offering such that in 1996 they were able to offer Grades 1–12, thus celebrating their first class of matriculants in 1996.
