Motaz Hawsawi
Motaz Ali Hassan Hawsawi ( ar, معتز هوساوي; born 17 February 1992) is a Saudi Arabian professional footballer who currently plays as a defender for Al-Taawoun and the Saudi Arabia national team. In May 2018 he was named in Saudi Arabia's preliminary squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Career He started playing for Al-Ahli and was often described as one of the best defenders in the history of the club. On January 11, 2022, he transferred for Al-Taawoun. The Saudi Arabia national football team ( ar, المنتخب العربي السعودي لكرة القدم) represent Saudi Arabia in men's international football. They are known as ''Al-Suqour Al-Khodhur'' (The Green Falcons) in reference to their traditional colours of green and white and represent both FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Considered one of Asia's most successful national teams, Saudi Arabia have won the AFC Asian Cup three times (1984, 1988 and 1996), reached a joint record six Asian Cup finals and have qualified for the FIFA World Cup on six occasions since debuting at the 1994 tournament. 2016 Saudi Super Cup
The 2016 Saudi Super Cup was the fourth edition of the Saudi Super Cup, an annual football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Saudi Pro League and King's Cup competitions. The match was played between Al-Ahli the winners of both the 2015–16 Saudi Pro League and the 2016 King Cup, and Al-Hilal, the winners of the 2015–16 Crown Prince Cup. It was held at Craven Cottage in London, England on 8 August 2016. Al-Ahli won the match 4–3 on penalties following a 1–1 draw, winning their first Super Cup title. 2016 King Cup
The 2016 King Cup, or The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques Cup, was the 41st season of King Cup since its establishment in 1957, and the 9th under the current edition. It started on 19 January and ended on 29 May 2016. Al-Hilal were the defending champions, but they were eliminated in the semifinals. Al-Ahli won their third title in the current edition and the thirteenth overall after beating Al-Nassr 2–1 after extra time in the final. The King Cup (sometimes spelled King's), officially known as The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Cup ( ar, كأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين), is the Saudi Arabian football knockout cup competition, run by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. The cup was created in 1957 and was played until 1990. It was re-launched again in 2007 as ''King's Cup of Champions'', and was played by only the top 6 finishers of the Professional League plus the Crown Prince Cup and Federation Cup winners. Since 2014, it was renamed as ''King's Cup'', the competition returned to its roots by implementing the old format. 153 clubs have taken part in the tournament.
