Mostafa Heravi ( fa, مصطفی هروی ; born in 1974 in Mashhad, Iran) is an Iranian filmmaker, photographer, and visual artist currently residing in Netherlands. Early life Mostafa Heravi was born in 1974 in Mashhad, Iran. He was raised in a conservative, religious family who, from early childhood, encouraged him to take up drawing, reciting the Quran and calligraphy. Heravi pursued painting in the presence of several master artists, including Hossein Talebi and Amir Khajehamiri. Mashhad ( fa, مشهد, Mašhad ), also spelled Mashad, is the List of Iranian cities by population, second-most-populous city in Iran, located in the relatively remote north-east of the country about from Tehran. Kiosk ( fa, کیوسک) is a rock band formed in Tehran in 2003, known for its blend of musical styles and its wry lyrics confronting Iranian cultural angst. History Kiosk is a pioneering Iranian rock band (The Berlin Daily Newspaper) founded by Arash Sobhani in Tehran in 2003. After censorship and restriction by Iranian authorities, its musicians immigrated to the U.S. and Canada. The band has since toured throughout the world and released seven albums. Women's Voices Now (WVN) is an American non-profit organization that "uses film to drive positive social change that advances girls' and women's rights globally". Farhad Mehrad (20 January 1944 – 31 August 2002), commonly known as Farhad, was an Iranian pop, rock, and folk singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist, who released the first English rock and roll album in Iran.
