Maurice Enright
Maurice "Mossy" or "Mossie" Enright (died February 2, 1920) was an Irish-American gangster and one of the earliest Chicago labor racketeers in the early 20th century. Little is known of Maurice Enright's background before his gang's violent and brutal methods managed to dominate Chicago's labor unions by the end of the 19th century. A veteran of the "Circulation Wars," he became a major figure in the city's steamfitters' union during the early 1910s and was instrumental in the rise of Johnny Torrio, who provided Enright with invaluable political protection from Chicago's First Ward vice district Aldermen "Bathhouse" John Couglin and Michael "Hinky Dink" Kenna. Enright remained in control of the city's labor unions into the early months of Prohibition until his death on February 2, 1920, when he was gunned down near his South Side home (most likely by rival Timothy "Big Tim" Murphy or Johnny Torrio and Al Capone. Mossie Finn
Maurice "Mossie" Finn (1931 - 31 March 2009) was an Irish hurler who played as a right wing-forward at senior level for the Cork county team. Born in Togher, Finn first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team. He made his senior debut during the 1951 championship. Finn went on to play a brief role for Cork, and won one All-Ireland medal and one Munster medal as a non-playing substitute. At club level Finn was a one-time championship medallist with St Finbarr's. Finn retired from inter-county hurling following the conclusion of the 1956 championship. Mossie Lyons is an Irish Gaelic football half-back who plays with the Castleisland Desmonds club side, and formerly with the Kerry county team. Playing career Lyons was first selected for the Kerry senior team in 2000, after playing for the county in the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship and All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship. The de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito is a British twin-engined, shoulder-winged, multirole combat aircraft, introduced during the Second World War. Unusual in that its frame was constructed mostly of wood, it was nicknamed the "Wooden Wonder", or "Mossie". The Cape sparrow (''Passer melanurus''), or mossie, is a bird of the sparrow family Passeridae found in southern Africa. A medium-sized sparrow at , it has distinctive plumage, including large pale head stripes in both sexes. Its plumage is mostly grey, brown, and chestnut, and the male has some bold black and white markings on its head and neck. The species inhabits semi-arid savannah, cultivated areas, and towns, and ranges from the central coast of Angola to eastern South Africa and Eswatini. Three subspecies are distinguished in different parts of its range. Cape sparrows primarily eat seeds, and also eat soft plant parts and insects.
