Moshe Gidron
Moshe Gidron ( he, משה גדרון, May 25, 1925 – November 14, 2009) was a major general in the Israel Defense Forces and former head of the Manpower Directorate. Biography Gidron was born in Tel Aviv during the British Mandate of Palestine. At age 17 he joined Palmach as a wireless operator assisting Aliyah Bet ships. After the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948, he served as a communications officer in the Yiftach Brigade. He later served as chief communications officer of the Central Command and later in the Southern Command. During 1952–1953 he commanded the military training school for communications. In 1966 he was made head of the Communications and Electronics Corps, serving in that capacity during the Six-Day War. He was discharged in 1972 as a Brigadier General, becoming CEO of the Koor Industries and Telrad telecommunications company. Yiftach Brigade
The Yiftach Brigade (also known as the Yiftah Brigade, the 11th Brigade in the 1948 Arab–Israeli War) was an Israeli infantry brigade. It included two Palmach battalions (the 1st and 7th), and later also the 2nd, which was transferred from the Negev Brigade. The Palmach memorial website records 274 of its members being killed whilst in the Yiftach Brigade. Dov Hoz
Dov Hoz ( he, דב הוז, September 19, 1894 - December 29, 1940) was a leader of the Labor Zionism movement, one of the founders of the Haganah organization, and a pioneer of Israeli aviation. Biography Born in Orsha, Russian Empire, in 1894, Hoz immigrated to Ottoman Palestine as a child along with his family in 1906. Beginning in 1909, he was part of the group that organized guarding activity of the city of Tel-Aviv. The group included Shaul Meirov-Avigur, Eliyahu Golomb and Moshe Sharett. During World War I, Hoz volunteered for service in the Turkish army and was sentenced to death for continuing activities to secure the Jewish settlement of Palestine. He escaped death by fleeing to the south of Palestine which had just been conquered by the British. Hoz was one of the organizers of the Jewish Legion. Telrad
A reflector sight or reflex sight is an optical sight that allows the user to look through a partially reflecting glass element and see an illuminated projection of an aiming point or some other image superimposed on the field of view. These sights work on the simple optical principle that anything at the focus of a lens or curved mirror (such as an illuminated reticle) will appear to be sitting in front of the viewer at infinity. Reflector sights employ some sort of "reflector" to allow the viewer to see the infinity image and the field of view at the same time, either by bouncing the image created by lens off a slanted glass plate, or by using a mostly clear curved glass reflector that images the reticle while the viewer looks through the reflector. The C4I Corps (, ''Heyl HaTikshuv''), or Teleprocessing Corps, is a combat support corps of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) under the command of the Teleprocessing Branch, formerly the Computer Service Directorate. The C4I Corps is responsible for all areas of teleprocessing and communications in the IDF.
