Moscow City Day (russian: День города Москвы, Den' goroda Moskvy) is a city-wide holiday held in Moscow. It is celebrated on the first or second Saturday of September. The celebration involves free cultural events, a parade and evening fireworks. The first city day was held in 1847 to celebrate Moscow's 700th anniversary. The city celebrated its 800th anniversary in 1947, this time during Soviet rule. Special Exemplary Military Band Of The Guard Of Honor Battalion Of Russia
The Special Military Exemplary Band of the Honor Guard () is a special military unit that performs military music for the guard of honor of the Russian Armed Forces that greets foreign government delegations, as well as provide musical accompaniment for national events. It is a branch of the Military Band Service of the Armed Forces of Russia. The band was created in the fall of 1956 by order of the Soviet Government, having performed in the welcoming ceremonies of hundreds heads of state and has played its music at many memorials in the country. Luzhniki Stadium ( rus, стадион «Лужники», p=stədʲɪˈon lʊʐnʲɪˈkʲi, ''Stadion Luzhniki'') is the national stadium of Russia, located in its capital city, Moscow. The full name of the stadium is Grand Sports Arena of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex. The Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival is an annual military music event and military tattoo held in Moscow on Red Square. Participating in the festival are Russian and foreign military bands, folk groups, and honor guard units of foreign countries. More than 40 countries have taken part in the festival since 2006. Zaryadye Park ( rus, Парк Зарядье) is a landscape urban park located adjacent to Red Square in Moscow, Russia, on the site of the former Rossiya Hotel.
