Mortal Sin (band)
Mortal Sin were an Australian thrash metal band that formed in 1985 and existed over three distinct periods until 2012. The band released five albums and were the first Australian thrash metal band to tour internationally. According to Australian musicologist, Ian McFarlane, they were one of "two leading lights... Metal for the Brain was Australia's largest heavy metal music festival. The event was held in Canberra annually, usually towards the end of the year, and featured Australian bands almost exclusively. The festival was established in November 1991 as a charity event for the National Brain Injury Foundation and continued as such until the final event in November 2006. Daryl Braithwaite (born 11 January 1949) is an Australian singer. He was the lead vocalist of Sherbet (1970–1984 and many subsequent reunions). Braithwaite also has a solo career, placing 15 singles in the Australian top 40, including two number-one hits: "You're My World" (October 1974) and "The Horses" (January 1991). Scatterbrain was an American eclectic thrash metal band founded in 1989 by Tommy Christ and Glen Cummings, after their Long Island, New York hardcore group Ludichrist broke up. The band performed distinctive live shows in which they would incorporate a Mozart medley mixed with Motörhead, cross-dressing, and giant chickens. Their most popular single "Don't Call Me Dude" was a top-twenty pop single in Australia. The video received regular rotation on MTV's ''Headbangers Ball''. Faith No More is an American rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1979. Before settling on the current name in July 1983, the band performed under the names Sharp Young Men and later Faith No Man.
