Scatterbrain (band)
Scatterbrain was an American eclectic thrash metal band founded in 1989 by Tommy Christ and Glen Cummings, after their Long Island, New York hardcore group Ludichrist broke up. The band performed distinctive live shows in which they would incorporate a Mozart medley mixed with Motörhead, cross-dressing, and giant chickens. Their most popular single "Don't Call Me Dude" was a top-twenty pop single in Australia. The video received regular rotation on MTV's ''Headbangers Ball''. The story line in the video is based on guitarist Dude Aeronomy who, in the late 1980s, began to react as depicted in the video. The same video is also featured in the episode "Blood Drive" on MTV's ''Beavis and Butt-Head''. Headbangers Ball
''Headbangers Ball'' is a music television program that consisted of heavy metal music videos airing on MTV and its global affiliates. The show began on MTV on April 18, 1987, playing heavy metal music videos from both well-known and more obscure artists. The show offered (and became famous because of) a stark contrast to Top 40 music videos shown during the day. However, with the mainstream rise of alternative rock, grunge, pop punk and rap music in the 1990s, the relevance of ''Headbangers Ball'' came into question, and the show was ultimately canceled in 1995. Over eight years later, as new genres of heavy metal were gaining a commercial foothold and fan interest became unavoidable, the program was reintroduced on MTV2. It had remained in varying degrees on the network's website, but by the early 2020s, it was no longer shown on television. ''Encino Man'' (known as ''California Man'' in France, Finland, Sweden, Great Britain, Asia, South Africa, and New Zealand) is a 1992 American comedy film directed by Les Mayfield in his directorial debut. "Mama Said Knock You Out" is the fourth single by rapper LL Cool J from his fourth studio album of the same name. The song famously begins with the line, ''"Don't call it a comeback/I been here for years."'' Before "Mama Said Knock You Out" was released, many people felt that LL Cool J's career was waning; his grandmother, who still believed in his talent, told him to "knock out" all his critics.
