Morning Glory (band)
Morning Glory is an American punk rock band from New York. It was formed originally as a solo project by Ezra Kire, after the band Choking Victim disbanded in 1999. This is the second band to use this name. The first one was a San Francisco rock band in the late 1960s who had one album, "Two Suns Worth" (1968) on Fontana Records (cat #SRF 67573). They played many concerts around the San Francisco bay area 1967-1970). Ezra Kire
Ezra Kire (born Ezra Cannon, December 30, 1975) is an American musician with the punk band Morning Glory (band), Morning Glory, and is an ex-member of punk bands Leftöver Crack, Choking Victim and INDK, InDK. He currently resides in New York City. Early life Ezra Kire was born on December 30, 1975, in the town of Grand Forks, North Dakota, near the Canada–US border. In his youth his family frequently moved across North America, then eventually to Colombo, Sri Lanka, where he attended high school at the Overseas School of Colombo. It was there that he started his first band with friend Derek Dees. In 1990 the two 8th graders played their first show at the school cafeteria, along with another two shows later that year, including the senior prom. After leaving Sri Lanka, Ezra moved to the small Canadian town of Nelson, British Columbia, where he played in the band Dead Faculty. Since their formation, they have often featured a rotating line-up of tour players, due to members of the band often touring with other music acts. Knitting Factory
The Knitting Factory is a nightclub in New York City that features eclectic music and entertainment. After opening in 1987, various other locations were opened in the United States. The Knitting Factory gave its audience poetry readings, performance art, standup comedy, and musicians who transcended the usual boundaries of rock and jazz, often experimental music.
