Moreno Trevisiol
Moreno Trevisiol (born 29 April 1963 in Treviso) is a former Italian rugby union player and coach, and a current sports manager. He played as a hooker. Trevisiol did all his career at Benetton Treviso, from 1981/82 to 1998/99. He won 6 titles of the Italian Championship, in 1982/83, 1988/89, 1991/92, 1996/97, 1997/98 and 1998/99, and the Cup of Italy, in 1997/98. He had 8 caps for Italy, from 1988 to 1994, without scoring. He was called for the 1995 Rugby World Cup, but didn't play. After finishing his player career, he became a coach, being in charge of Riviera (2004/05), Venezia Mestre (2005/06-2006/07) and once again Riviera (2007/08 and early 2008/09). He was sacked due to bad results in October 2008. Treviso ( , ; vec, Trevixo) is a city and ''comune'' in the Veneto region of northern Italy. Benetton Rugby, also known as Benetton Treviso ( or ), is an Italian professional rugby union team based in Treviso, Veneto competing in the United Rugby Championship, the European Rugby Challenge Cup and European Champions Cup. Treviso rugby team was founded in 1932 and has won 15 Italian national championships. The team has been owned by the Benetton clothing company since 1979. Treviso have competed in the United Rugby Championship (formerly the Pro14 and Pro12) since 2010, and have previously competed in the Italian domestic championship. Treviso have supplied many players to the Italian national team, such as Alessandro Zanni and Leonardo Ghiraldini. 1995 Rugby World Cup
The 1995 Rugby World Cup was the third Rugby World Cup. It was hosted and won by South Africa, and was the first Rugby World Cup in which every match was held in one country. The World Cup was the first major sporting event to take place in South Africa following the end of apartheid. It was also the first World Cup in which South Africa was allowed to compete; the International Rugby Football Board (IRFB, now World Rugby) had only readmitted South Africa to international rugby in 1992, following negotiations to end apartheid. The World Cup was also the last major event of rugby union's amateur era; two months after the tournament, the IRFB opened the sport to professionalism.
