Morena (song)
"Morena" (also known under the title of "Morena My Love") is a song by Romanian producer Tom Boxer and singer Antonia for Boxer's third studio album of the same name (2010) and the latter's first record ''This Is Antonia'' (2015). Written and produced solely by Boxer, the song was released in October 2009. Boxer came up with it in Greece, waiting for his order to arrive at a restaurant. A music critic from ''Viva'' magazine praised "Morena" for its catchiness and simple structure. The song also received an award in the Best Dance category at the 2010 Romanian Music Awards. An accompanying music video for the track was released on 19 February 2010, featuring Antonia making out with a woman after leaving a bar she performed at. The clip aroused controversy for its portrayal of lesbianism, but attained heavy airplay in Romania and Poland. Tom Boxer
Tom Boxer (born Cosmin Simionică on 6 January 1977 in Craiova) is a Romanian musician, disc jockey and record producer. He released his debut studio album ''Zamorena'' in 2008, spawning the single "Brasil" in collaboration with Anca Parghel and Fly Project, which topped the Romanian Top 100. Success followed with "Morena" (2009) featuring Antonia, reaching number two in Romania and the top ten in several other countries. The single was promoted by a controversial music video featuring lesbian scenes. Multiple record charts have been inaugurated in Romania since the 1990s. The Romanian Top 100 was the country's national chart until 2012. Founded in 1995, it was a ranking based on the compilation of charts submitted by local Romanian radio stations. The Romanian Top 100 was published weekly and was also announced during a radio show starting in 1998. Compilation of the list was first handled by Body M Production A-V, followed by Media Forest. In the 2010s, the chart was announced during a podcast on Kiss FM, but the broadcast ended in February 2012. Later that month, the Airplay 100—which was compiled by Media Forest and also broadcast by Kiss FM—replaced the Romanian Top 100 as a national chart. Until its cancellation in November 2021, it measured the airplay of songs on radio stations and television channels throughout the country. Antena 1 () is a Romanian free-to-air television network owned by the Antena TV Group, part of the Intact Media Group. Its programming consists of television news programs, soap opera shows, football matches, entertainment programmes, movies and television series. Antena 1's headquarters was seized by the Romanian state on 8 August 2014, due to a judicial sentence against Dan Voiculescu, the founder of Intact Media Group. The building may be sold in order for the state to recuperate the loss brought to it as a result of the fraudulent privatization of the Institute for Alimentary Research in 2003. After company employees destroyed the interior of the building whilst moving out, the building required refurbishment before being placed on sale. The National Agency for the Management of Seized Assets (ANABI) has placed the building for sale on its website. Armenian Music Awards was an annual music awards ceremony first held at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, California on October 7, 1998. It was created and produced for the first eight years by Peter Bahlawanian who wanted to support Armenian artists and make Armenian culture. The awards consist of several categories of varying 20 to 30 from year to year. Numerous artists perform live throughout the evening. The nominees and winners are decided by a panel of judges who listen to CDs or MP3s online compilations prior to the night of events. There are, however, some categories that are voted by the general public. Votes are cast through online voting locations. Also SMS voting has been introduced in 2007. Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. A cameo role, also called a cameo appearance and often shortened to just cameo (), is a brief appearance of a well-known person in a work of the performing arts. A short film is any motion picture that is short enough in running time not to be considered a feature film. Kiss FM is a Top40/Hit Radio station from Romania, owned by ANT1 Group. The station was rebranded from the old Radio Contact, after being purchased by a Belgian radio network. The rebranding came with a number of "on air" personalities, such as Șerban Huidu and Mihai Găinușă, the new network quickly got to be one of the most popular hit stations in Romania where it covers the main cities.
