Boy George
George Alan O'Dowd (born 14 June 1961), known professionally as Boy George, is an English singer, songwriter, DJ, author and mixed media artist. Best known for his soulful voice and his androgynous appearance, Boy George has been the lead singer of the pop band Culture Club since the group's formation in 1981. He began his solo career in 1987. Boy George's music is often classified as blue-eyed soul, which is influenced by rhythm and blues and reggae. Boy George grew up in Eltham and was part of the New Romantic movement which emerged in the late 1970s to early 1980s. E-Zee Possee were an English electronic music group, active between 1989 and 1991, made up of vocalists and musicians, and led by MC Kinky. She was a rapper and friend of Boy George, and E-Zee Possee were promoted by George's label, More Protein. Career Born Caron Geary, MC Kinky had previously collaborated with Boy George, in particular the toasting section of the original version of "Kipsy", which was included in George's second solo album, ''Tense Nervous Headache'' (1988). A different mix of that song, is contained in the four CD box set entitled '' Culture Club - Box Set'' (2002). Everything Starts With An 'E'
"Everything Starts with an 'E' is a song by E-Zee Possee featuring vocals from MC Kinky. It is considered by many to be the anthem of the acid house movement of the late 1980s, with the "E" in the title widely understood to refer to the drug Ecstasy (MDMA). The song began life as an instrumental interpretation of Jeremy Healy and Simon Rogers's idea of house music after a trip to Ibiza which upon being presented to Boy George had vocals added to it by MC Kinky, George and Eve Gallagher. This vocal version charted number 15 on the UK Singles Chart, and although a music video was created, it was rarely broadcast due to its controversial lyrical content. Jesus Loves You were a British band, founded by the singer Boy George. The band's music is a mixture of electronic dance music, Indian classical music and western pop music. Their lyrics are about love, spirituality and the equality of all human beings. History After the band Culture Club broke up, Boy George started a solo career. He succeeded with the singles taken from his debut album ''Sold'' in 1987. Caron Liza Geary (born 15 October 1963 in Paddington, London), known by various stage names, is an English female raggamuffin toaster. She was the first white female reggae/dancehall MC. According to Geary, her first recorded appearance was on a cover of "Kid Ralph", a dancehall track by Little Twitch. The song talks about a "legendary" homosexual figure in Jamaica's prison system. She has subsequently worked as a solo artist and with other musicians, including Erasure and Boy George, who described her music as "the dirtiest 'slackest' reggae I'd heard since the seventies". Eve Gallagher is an English singer from Sunderland, County Durham associated with the house music scene. Career Eve Gallagher first came to prominence in 1990 with the release of her debut single "Love Come Down". Released on Boy George's More Protein record label, it was a transatlantic club success featuring remixes from David Morales. Her second single was "Love is a Master of Disguise", produced and mixed by DMC's Steve Anderson, of Brothers In Rhythm. A third release, "Heaven Has To Wait" ensued in early 1992, to be followed by "Change Your Mind". A remix of the latter track by Hooj Choons' in-house remix team Diss-Cuss proved to be an underground hit. Lippy Lou (born Louise Neale; 12 July 1975) is a British recording artist who had a brief recording career in the mid-1990s. Career In 1995, Lippy Lou released two singles, "Liberation" and "Freaks", on Boy George's More Protein label. Both singles were produced by Mike Koglin, and entered the UK top 100 singles chart. "Liberation" was described by ''Billboard'' as a "coming out anthem." The chorus of "Freaks" was based on the Was (Not Was) song "Out Come the Freaks "Out Come the Freaks" is the name of a trilogy of songs by art-funk ensemble Was (Not Was). The trilogy consists of three songs that feature the same basic title, tune and chorus lyric: "Out Come the Freaks" (1981), "(Return to the Valley of) Out ...".
