is a Japanese band formed in 1992 in Tokyo and composed of drummer Atsuo, guitarist/bassist Takeshi, and guitarist/keyboardist Wata. All three members contribute vocals. Their work has drawn variously on styles such as sludge metal, drone, noise, psychedelia, and minimalism. Boris has released more than 20 studio albums on various labels around the world, as well as a variety of live albums, compilations, EPs, singles, and collaborative albums. They have collaborated with acts such as Sunn O))), Merzbow, Keiji Haino, and guitarist Michio Kurihara. Pink (Boris Album)
''Pink'' is the tenth album by Japanese experimental music band Boris. It was originally released in 2005 through Diwphalanx Records in Japan and subsequently reissued in 2006 by American label Southern Lord Records. The album received favorable reviews, particularly for incorporating more melody into the band's abrasive sound. The album's length was extended significantly on the LP version of the album. For the 2006 reissue of ''Pink'', the album's cover art, track order, and length were modified from the original version released in Japan in 2005. Additionally, a music video was shot for the title track which was limited to 100 copies on DVD. ''Absolutego'' is the debut studio album by Japanese experimental band Boris. It was released in 1996 by Fangs Anal Satan. This album shows inspiration from the Melvins and, most prominently, Earth. Excluding the Merzbow collaboration ''Sun Baked Snow Cave'', it is the only "one-long-song" Boris album that is not broken down into multiple parts. A song with the same title also appears in the album ''Dear''. In 2001 Southern Lord Records re-released this album remastered and slowed down, with an alternative cover, and relabeled as ''Absolutego+ (Special Low Frequency Version)'' in homage to '' Earth 2''. ''Bullhead'' is the third studio album by American rock band Melvins, released in 1991 through Boner Records. The album has longer songs than previous Melvins albums. Before this, most of their songs were under two or three minutes. Release ''Bullhead'' was originally released in 1991 on vinyl, CD and cassette. Boner Records re-released it on vinyl in 2015, paired with the previous album '' Ozma''. Reception and legacy The Japanese experimental band Boris took their name from ''Bullhead''s first track. Melvins (sometimes The Melvins) are an American rock band formed in 1983 in Montesano, Washington. Their early work was key to the development of both grunge and sludge metal. Initially, they performed as a trio but later also sometimes appeared as a quartet, with either two drummers or two bassists. Since 1984, vocalist and guitarist Buzz Osborne and drummer Dale Crover have been constant members. Boris is a song by The Melvins on their 1991 album, '' Bullhead''. The song is a fan favorite and appears on the Melvins retrospective album/book '' Neither Here nor There'' and the live album '' Alive at the Fucker Club''.
