Moravia High Jump Tour
The Moravia High Jump Tour is an elite-level, invitation-only, indoor athletics competition for the world's best high jumpers, both men and women. It is a high jump-only competition held in the eastern Czech region of Moravia. Although the competition is held in small basketball gymnasiums, without a track, the tour is sanctioned by the IAAF, the sport's governing body. Description and history First organized as a tour in 2005, it quickly became the world's best (non-championship) indoor competition and routinely produces world-leading jumps. Held in the Czech Republic in late January each year, the tour initially consisted of three stops spread over a week, including the city of Ostrava, but in 2008, it was shortened to two competitions, held three days apart in Hustopeče and Třinec. Mariya Aleksandrovna Lasitskene (russian: Мария Александровна Ласицкене, ; ; born 14 January 1993) is a Russian Sport of athletics, athlete who specialises in the high jump. She is the Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's high jump, 2020 Olympic champion and three-time world champion (2015 World Championships in Athletics, 2015, 2017 World Championships in Athletics, 2017 and 2019 World Athletics Championships, 2019). Banská Bystrica (, also known by other alternative names) is a middle-sized town in central Slovakia, located on the Hron River in a long and wide valley encircled by the mountain chains of the Low Tatras, the Veľká Fatra, and the Kremnica Mountains. The Banskobystricka latka is an annual indoor high jump competition which takes place at the Stiavnicky Sport Hall in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. It was formerly known as the Europa SC High Jump due to sponsorship by the Europa Shopping Center, the city's main shopping mall. History The event was established in 1993 by a group of athletics enthusiasts, including Ľubomír Roško, Július Nyárjas, Róbert Ruffíni, and Robert Rozim. The first edition was held in the city's Štiavničkách Sports Hall and saw Šárka Kašpárková win the women's contest with a Czech record of 1.95 metres. Aleksey Vladimirovich Dmitrik (Russian: Алексей Владимирович Дмитрик; born 12 April 1984) is a Russian high jumper. He won the silver medal at the 2009 European Indoor Championships. He was born in Slantsy, Leningrad Oblast. He won the gold medal at the 2001 World Youth Championships, finished fourteenth at the 2002 World Junior Championships and was the runner-up to Jaroslav Bába at the 2003 European Athletics Junior Championships. Alessia Trost (born 8 March 1993) is an Italian female high jumper. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in High jump. She won the 2009 World Youth Championship in Athletics in Bressanone. She was the bronze medallist at the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Biography Trost also won the Italian Youth Championship in 2008. At the first Youth Olympics 2010 she won a silver medal clearing 1.86 metres, to finish second behind Russia′s Mariya Kuchina. Mutaz Essa Barshim ( ar, معتز عيسى برشم, Muʿtazz ʿĪsā Baršim; born 24 June 1991) is a Qatari track and field athlete who competes in the high jump and is the current Olympic Champion (2020). He is also the current World Champion and second best jumper of all-time with a personal best of 2.43. He won gold at the 2017 World Championships in London and at the 2019 World Championships in Doha.
