Mor Polycarpus Geevarghese (1933 2011) was the Metropolitan of Evangelistic Association Of The East and Honnavar Mission of Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church. Early life Mor Polycarpus was born on April 5, 1933 to Mr. Mathew Philipose and Mrs. Eliyamma of Nadayil Mulanilkkunnathil Famil, Chennithala, Pathanamthitta District, Kerala. St. George Jacobite Syrian Church, Chennithala was his home parish. He attended Eramathoor Ilavumood Primary School and NSS High School in Mannar. He completed SSLC in 1950, but decided to devote his life to the church rather than going on to study civil engineering. Ordination He was ordained as a Korooyo, or deacon, in the year 1956, then as Kassisso in 1957 at Manjanikkara Dayaro. Jacobite Syrian Christian Church
The Jacobite Syrian Christian Church (JSCC), or the Malankara Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church in India also known as Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, the Jacobite Syrian Church, and the Syriac Orthodox Church in India, is a catholicate based in Kerala, India, of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch and part of the Oriental Orthodox Church. Mor Athanasius Paulose II Metropolitan
Athanasius Paulose (27 June 1915 – 7 March 1991) was the First Metropolitan of Evangelistic Association of the East. He was consecrated as Metropolitan in 1973. Early life Paulose was born to Kunjannam and Kadavil Kurien Paulose (the son of Varkey, elder brother of Kadavil Paulose Mar Athanasius, the first metropolitan of Angamali diocese). His early education came in North Paravur. Paulose went to UC College Aluva followed by postgraduate studies in philosophy at Madras Christian College in 1941. He earned a degree in political science from Columbia University US in 1950 and a doctorate from Kerala University in 1966. In Sweden he received D. D. & D.Litt. degrees in 1974. Mor Yulios Elias Qoro
Mor Yulios Elias Qoro (Elias Mar Julius) (1881–1962) was a Syriac Orthodox Church Bishop and the Patriarchal Delegate of India, Born as Elias Malke Qoro at Mardin on August 1, 1881,educated at school of the Church of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste. He joined Dairo d-Kurkmo (Mor Hananyo Monastery) in 1902, and became a monk on 16 June 1905. He was appointed secretary to Ignatius Abded Aloho II Patriarch of Antioch in 1906, and was ordained kashisho in 1908. He became abbot of Mor Hananyo Monastery in 1911, and was appointed director of its printing press. He was consecrated bishop on 23 September 1923 in the Church of the Forty Martyrs by Ignatius Elias III Patriarch of Antioch, appointed to serve in Malankara. In Christian churches with episcopal polity, the rank of metropolitan bishop, or simply metropolitan (alternative obsolete form: metropolite), pertains to the diocesan bishop or archbishop of a metropolis.
