Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole is the ''métropole'', an intercommunal structure, centred on the city of Montpellier. It is located in the Hérault department, in the Occitanie region, southern France. It was created in January 2015, replacing the previous ''Communauté d'agglomération de Montpellier''. The Oppidum d'Altimurium, also known as the ''Oppidum Murviel-les-Montpellier'', is an ancient hill-town (or ''oppidum'') located near the village. Montaud (; oc, Montaut) is a commune in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region in southern France. Montaud is a mountain village with a dozen hamlets. Lattes (; oc, Latas) is a commune in the Hérault département in the Occitanie region in southern France, located just on the outskirts of Montpellier. Geography Lattes is located in the South of the prefecture of Montpellier in a plain split by the river Lez, that flows to the Mediterranean Sea at Palavas-les-Flots.
