Montgomery Football Club is a Welsh football team based in the town Montgomery, Powys, Wales, who play in the Central Wales League Northern Division. They were to play in the Ardal Leagues North East, which is in the third tier of the Welsh football league system, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Wales, the country's football association cancelled what would have been the Ardal Leagues' inaugural 2020–21 season on 4 February 2021 and the club announced its withdrawal from the league on 26 March. For the 2021–22 season they were admitted to the Mid Wales Football League East Division. They welcomed their return to Welsh Football with the signing of Pontesbury born Robert Hartshorn, the signing demonstrated a great sign of intent from The Canaries owing to the players vast experience and ability. Montgomery, Powys
Montgomery ( cy, Trefaldwyn; translates to ''the town of Baldwin'') is a town and community in Powys, Wales. It is the traditional county town of the historic county of Montgomeryshire to which it gives its name and is within the Welsh Marches border area. The town centre lies about west of the England–Wales border. Montgomery Castle was started in 1223 and its parish church in 1227. Ardal Leagues
The Ardal Leagues are a football league in Wales. The word "ardal" translates as "district" in English, with Wales split into four regions at this level. They have clubs with amateur/semi-professional status and sit at the third level of the Welsh football league system. The first year of their operation would have been 2020–21 but the 2020–21 Ardal North East season, 2020–21 Ardal North West season, 2020–21 Ardal South East season and 2020–21 Ardal South West season were all cancelled.
