Monte Ávila Editores
Monte Ávila Editores is the largest and most important publishing house in Venezuela. Between 1980 and 2000 it published over 300 titles, largely by Venezuelan authors, producing over 1.2m copies. Founded in 1968 on the initiative of author Simón Alberto Consalvi, as of 2009 it has published over 2000 books. Caracas
Caracas (, ), officially Santiago de León de Caracas, abbreviated as CCS, is the capital and largest city of Venezuela, and the center of the Metropolitan Region of Caracas (or Greater Caracas). A book is a medium for recording information in the form of writing or images, typically composed of many pages (made of papyrus, parchment, vellum, or paper) bound together and protected by a cover. The technical term for this physical arrangement is '' codex'' (plural, ''codices''). Simón Alberto Consalvi
Simón Alberto Consalvi (7 July 1927 – 11 March 2013) was a Venezuelan politician, journalist, diplomat and historian. He was Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela on two occasions (1977-1979/1985-1988), Minister of Internal Affairs of Venezuela (1988–1989), Secretary of the Presidency (1988), and also held several Ambassadorships. A journalist and author of many books, he was member of the National Academy of History since 1997, and Associate Editor of the daily '' El Nacional''. Juan Liscano
Juan Liscano Velutini (7 July 1915 – 17 February 2001) was a Venezuelan poet, folklorist, writer and critic. He was director of Monte Ávila Editores. Major examples of his poetic work are: ''Nuevo mundo Orinoco'' (1959), ''Cármenes'' (1966) and ''Fundaciones'' (1981). Also wrote: ''Panorama de la literatura venezolana actual'' (1973) ''Espiritualidad y literatura: una relación tormentosa'' (1976), ''Los fuegos apagados'' (1990) and ''El origen sigue siendo'' (1991). In 1990, Liscano published a personal Anthology, a route for his poetic trajectory. He won the Venezuelan National Prize for Literature in 1951. Rafael Arráiz Lucca
Rafael Arráiz Lucca (born 3 January 1959, Caracas) is a Venezuelan historian, essayist, poet, and professor. Career Arraiz Lucca is a professor in the Metropolitan University of Caracas (UNIMET). Since 2001, has been in charge of the "Fundación Para la Cultura Urbana" (Foundation for Urban Culture), in Caracas. Became a lawyer in 1983 at the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB), specialist in integrated communications in 2002 (UNIMET), in 2005 finished a mastership in history at the UCAB.
