Mona El-Shazly
Mona El Shazly ( ar, منى الشاذلي, ) is an Egyptian talk show host. She is known for her talk show ''Al Ashira Masa'an'' (''10 O'Clock'') where she discussed news of the day and interviewed Egyptian and foreign politicians and scientists. Early life El Shazly graduated from high school in the United Arab Emirates, then studied MASS COM and Political Science at the American University in Cairo. Career El Shazly worked in Public Relations at the Arab Contractors Company. She hosted several programs on the Saudi-owned Arab Radio and Television Network Channel. She also hosts her on program, Ma3kom Mona El Shazly, on the Egyptian TV channel CBC. She has been at Dream 2 Channel, a popular independent Egyptian satellite channel, since 2006, hosting ''Al Ashira Masa'an''. Alaa Al Aswany
Alaa Al Aswany ( ar, علاء الأسواني, ; born 26 May 1957) is an Egyptian writer, novelist, and a founding member of the political movement Kefaya. Early life and career Al Aswany was born on 26 May 1957 in Cairo. His mother, Zainab, came from an aristocratic family; her uncle was a Pasha and Minister of Education before the Egyptian Revolution of 1952. His father, Abbas Al Aswany, was from Aswan (in Lower Nubia) and was a lawyer and writer who "is remembered as being a captivating and charismatic speaker with a broad following and loyalty within a cross-section of the Egyptian revolutionary intelligentsia". Abbas Al Aswany wrote a regular back-page essay in the Egyptian weekly magazine Rose al-Yūsuf entitled ''Aswaaniyat''. In 1972, he was "the recipient of the state award for literature". The el-Ghad Party ( ar, حزب الغد ', ; "The Tomorrow Party") is an active political party in Egypt that was granted license in October 2004. El-Ghad is a centrist liberal secular political party pressing for widening the scope of political participation and for a peaceful rotation of power. Ayman Nour
Ayman Abd El Aziz Nour ( arz, أيمن عبد العزيز نور, ; born 5 December 1964) is an Egyptian politician, a former member of the Egyptian Parliament, founder and chairman of the El Ghad party. Nour was the first man to ever compete against President Hosni Mubarak in the 2005 presidential election. However shortly after announcing his candidacy, Nour was stripped of his parliamentary immunity and arrested on 29 January 2005, a move that was widely criticized by governments around the world as a step backwards for Egyptian democracy.
