Moky Makura is a Nigerian author, journalist, actress, and businesswoman who serves as an executive director of ''Africa No Filter'', an organization aiming at inducing changes in Africa by means of mass media. Life Makura was born in Lagos, Nigeria, as a member of the House of Akinsemoyin, a royal family of the Nigerian chieftaincy system. She has a degree in politics, economics, and law from University of Buckingham. In 1998, she moved to South Africa, and in 1999, started her own consultancy company. She was deputy director for Communications Africa at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and since 2017 the representative of the Foundation in South Africa. Global Citizen (organization)
Global Citizen, also known as Global Poverty Project, is an international education and advocacy organization working to catalyze the movement to end extreme poverty and promote social justice and equity through the lens of intersectionality. The organization was founded by Hugh Evans, Simon Moss and Wei Soo, and aims to increase the number and effectiveness of people taking action to support the cause. Vision Global Citizen's vision is a world without extreme poverty by 2030. Akinsemoyin
Oba Akinsemoyin reigned as Oba of Lagos from around 1704 to 1749. His father was Oba Ado and his siblings were Erelu Kuti and Oba Gabaro, whom he succeeded. According to the Justice J. O. Kassim tribunal of inquiry report of 19 September 1978, there are six recognised sons of Akinsemoyin, namely, Sadeko, Amore/Olukokun, Abisako, Jolasun, Gbosebi and Aina Egbe. The following are some of the prominent descendants of Akinsemoyin's daughters: Onisiwo, Oniru, Oluwa, and Akogun.
