Moiya Kelly
Moiya Ann Kelly (28 May 1934 – 3 January 2023) was a British actress during the 1950s who is probably best known for playing Martha Cratchit in the film '' Scrooge'' (1951) starring Alistair Sim. Early life and career Moiya Kelly was born in Finsbury, London on 28 May 1934, a daughter of Williamina Stuart (''née'' Duff) (1904–1979) and Robert Kelly (born 1904), a salesman. Just short of her third birthday in 1937 she danced a duet on stage at the Hippodrome Theatre in Norwich, appearing there again in 1940 and 1941. An accomplished dancer by the age of 13, Kelly was invited to audition for the Royal Ballet School. They, while recognising her talent, informed her that she would not grow tall enough for a professional career in ballet. She after attended the Aida Foster Theatre School where her contemporaries included Barbara Windsor and Jean Marsh. Christine Norden
Christine Norden (born Mary Lydia Thornton; 28 December 1924 – 21 September 1988) was a British actress. Early life Norden was born in Mowbray Terrace, Sunderland. She was the daughter of a bus driver. Her childhood home was in Chester Road, Sunderland, and she was educated at Chester Road Primary School and Havelock School. Career Norden gained experience singing and dancing while performing in wartime ENSA concerts and variety shows as a teenager. One claim to fame was that she was the first entertainer to land on Normandy beaches after D-Day. At the age of 20 she was "discovered" in a cinema queue and given a screen test by Sir Alexander Korda. Her screen debut was as a nightclub singer in the 1947 film '' Night Beat''. Dame June Rosemary Whitfield (11 November 1925 – 29 December 2018) was an English radio, television, and film actress. Her big break was a lead in the radio comedy ''Take It from Here'', which aired on the BBC Light Programme in 1953.
