Mohsen Hashtroodi
Mohsen Hashtroodi (Hachtroudi) ( fa, محسن هشترودی; also romanized as Mohsen Hashtrūdi; December 13, 1908, Tabriz – September 4, 1976, Tehran) was a prominent Iranian mathematician, known as "Professor Hashtroodi (Hashtroudi)". His father, Shaikh Esmāeel Mojtahed was an advisor to Shaikh Mohammad Khiābāni, who played a significant role in the establishment of the parliamentary democracy in Iran during and after the Iranian Constitutional Revolution. Mohsen Hashtroodi attended ''Sirus'' and ''Aghdasieh'' primary schools in Tehran and subsequently studied at the élite school of '' Dar ol-Fonoon'', also in Tehran, from where he graduated in 1925. He obtained his doctoral degree in mathematics in 1936 as student of Élie Cartan in France. Tabriz ( fa, تبریز ; ) is a city in northwestern Iran, serving as the capital of East Azerbaijan Province. It is the List of largest cities of Iran, sixth-most-populous city in Iran. Behesht-e Zahra
Behesht-e Zahra ( fa, بهشت زهرا, lit. ''The Paradise of Zahra'', from Fatima az-Zahra) is the largest cemetery in Iran. Located in the southern part of metropolitan Tehran, it is connected to the city by Tehran Metro Line 1. History In the early 1950s, all the cemeteries in Tehran were supposed to be replaced by several large new ones outside the then precincts of the capital. Behesht-e Zahra was built in late 1960s on the southern side of Tehran towards the direction of the city of Qom and opened on 29 June 1970 by mayor of Tehran, Gholamreza Nikpey. It was named by Ayatollah Ahmad Khonsari. The first person buried in Behesht-e Zahra was Mohammad-Taghi Khial on 25 July 1970. Fariba Hachtroudi
Fariba Hachtroudi ( fa, فریبا هشترودی; born 1951 in Teheran) is a French-Iranian journalist and writer. Early life Fariba Hachtroudi is the daughter of Mohsen Hashtroodi, a prominent Iranian mathematician, and Robab Hashtroodi, a professor of humanities and Persian literature. Sheikh Ismail Hashtroodi was her grandfather. In 1963, Hachtroudi moved to France. She trained as an archaeologist, receiving her doctoral degree in 1978. Career Early in her journalistic career, Hachtroudi covered the Iran–Iraq War. Following the Iranian Revolution, Hachtroudi began writing polemics against Khomeini and the religious authorities in Iran. Between 1981 and 1983, she lived in Sri Lanka, teaching at Colombo University. In 1985, she entered Iran secretly via Baluchistan and travelled around the country, investigating the consequences of the Revolution and the Iran–Iraq War on life in the country.
