Mohican State Park is a public recreation area located on the south shore of Pleasant Hill Lake, south of Loudonville, Ohio, Loudonville in Ashland County, Ohio, Ashland County, Ohio, United States. The state park is located along Ohio State Route 3, Ohio SR 3 and Ohio State Route 97, Ohio SR 97 and is surrounded by the Mohican-Memorial State Forest. The Clear Fork Mohican River, Clear Fork of the Mohican River flows through the park carving a narrow gorge and joins the Black Fork Mohican River, Black Fork about a half-mile east of the park to form the Mohican River. Ashland County is a county located in the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 52,447. Its county seat is Ashland. The county is named for " Ashland", the home of Senator Henry Clay near Lexington, Kentucky. It was formed in 1846 from parts of Huron, Lorain, Richland and Wayne Counties. Mohican MTB 100
The Mohican MTB 100 is an Marathon Mountain Bike Races, ultra-endurance 100 mile (161 km) mountain bike race held annually in early June in North Central Ohio. The course contains over 11,000 feet of climbing on single-track, double-track and dirt roads. This course is very scenic, almost entirely tree covered and more than 90% on dirt. This course is only one lap and is almost entirely in the 5,000 acre (20 km²) Mohican State Park. This course has been designed in part by a veteran, experienced endurance racer keeping in mind all things loved and dreaded about other courses. The race has been one of the stops of the National Ultra Endurance Series since 2006. In both the 2006 and 2005 races, problems with course markings were reported by multiple racers.
