Mohammed Al-Kandari
Mohammed Al-Kandari was a member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, representing the first district. Born in 1971, Al-Kandari studied medicine before being elected to the National Assembly in 2008. While political parties are technically illegal in Kuwait, Al-Kandari affiliates with the Islamic Salafi Alliance. Against Celebrating Christmas in Kuwait On December 24, 2006, Al-Kandari told '' Al-Watan Daily'' that Muslims should not wish their Christian friends "Merry Christmas". The National Assembly ( ar, مجلس الأمة) is the unicameral legislature of Kuwait. The National Assembly meets in Kuwait City. Political parties are illegal in Kuwait, candidates run as independents. The National Assembly is made up of 50 elected members and 16 appointed government ministers (ex officio members). Overview The National Assembly is the legislature in Kuwait, established in 1963. Islamic Salafi Alliance (Kuwait)
The Islamic Salafi Alliance ( ar, التجمع الإسلامي السلفي) is a Salafi political grouping in Kuwait headed by Khaled al-ـSultan Bin Essa. Its founded in 1981. Of the fifty elected members of Kuwait National Assembly three seats belong to the Islamic Salafi Alliance since the 2013 elections. In the February 2012 general elections the Islamic Salafi Alliance managed to capture four seats, and another six were taken by people with similar ideas.
