Mohammad Omar (footballer, Born 1976)
Mohammed Omar Mohammed Ahmed Al-Shaddadi, known as Mohammad Omar ( ar, محمد عمر, born November 11, 1976 in Dubai, UAE) is a retired Emirati footballer, serving as the CEO for Mumbai Tigers F.C. in India. He was the captain of the UAE national football team from 2002-2008. During his professional football career which spanned over 20 years he has played for many clubs including Al Wasl, Al Ain, Al Jazira, Al Dhafra, Al-Nasr, and Ajman Club. In Summer 2010, Omar announced that he would move back to the club that he started with, Al Wasl FC to play a final season and retire. In 2002, he joined Omani club, Dhofar and competed with them in the final of the Sultan Qaboos Cup, and scored the only goal for the team in a game which they eventually lost to neighbor's, Al-Nasr. Al-Jazira Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium ( ar, ستاد محمد بن زايد) is a multi-purpose stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is currently used mostly for football and cricket matches and is the home ground of Al Jazira Club. It is named after Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Sultan Qaboos Stadium at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex ( ar, مجمع السلطان قابوس الرياضي), also known locally as Boshar ( ar, بوشر), is a government-owned multi-purpose stadium in the Boshar district of Muscat, Oman. 2007 AFC Asian Cup Qualification
The 2007 AFC Asian Cup qualification was held in late 2005 and the final qualification round was held from February to November 2006 with 25 nations participating. For the first time, the defending champions (Japan), did not earn an automatic berth in the finals and had to compete in the qualification tournament.
