Mohammad Din Zakhil
Mohammad Din Zakhil ( – famous as ''Ustad Zakhil'') was a singer/composer from Afghanistan. Zakhil composed over 700 songs for many Afghan singers. ''Da Zamoong Zeeba Watan'', ''Pa Loyo Ghro Banday Ra Taw Shwal Toofanona,'' and ''Sanga Meena Zma Sta Wa'' are a few of his classic compositions. The lyrics and music of "Wro Wro Kaigda Qadamoona Ashna", which were used in a Hollywood movie, The Passion of Christ, were also composed and created by him. The song was originally recorded by his wife, Qamar Gula, in the Radio Afghanistan studio in 1974. After the release of the movie, the Zakhil family hired a lawyer to file a copyright lawsuit against Icon Productions, Mel Gibson (the director) and John Debney (the music director of the film). The movie and music directors of The Passion of Christ were later sued. The ''ghazal'' ( ar, غَزَل, bn, গজল, Hindi-Urdu: /, fa, غزل, az, qəzəl, tr, gazel, tm, gazal, uz, gʻazal, gu, ગઝલ) is a form of amatory poem or ode, originating in Arabic poetry. Music Of Afghanistan
The music of Afghanistan comprises many varieties of classical music, folk music, and modern popular music. Afghanistan has a rich musical heritage and features a mix of Persian melodies, Indian compositional principles, and sounds from ethnic groups such as the Pashtuns, Tajiks and Hazaras. Instruments used range from Indian tablas to long-necked lutes. Afghanistan's classical music is closely related to Hindustani classical music while sourcing much of its lyrics directly from classical Persian poetry such as Mawlana Balkhi (Rumi) and the Iranian tradition indigenous to central Asia. Qamar Gula
Qamar Gula (; fa, قمر گل, ; 21 January 1952 – 9 December 2022) was an Afghan Canadian musician, who has been credited with being the second female Pashto language singer (after Rukhshana) to sing for the Radio Television Afghanistan. A veteran of music of Afghanistan, Afghan music, she had a career that spanned nearly five decades. Early life Qamar Gula was born in Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan. She started singing at the age of seven or eight, and due to wide audience appreciation she was encouraged to pursue it professionally. Career Gula's career reached its zenith when she married Mohammad Din Zakhil who composed many of her songs. By the early 1970s, she gained fame across Afghanistan and ranked among the top female singers of the country.
