Mohamed Abdul Mageed Qubaty ( ar, الدكتور محمد عبدالمجيد آل قباطي) FRCS, GONOC is a Yemeni politician. Previously, he served as Yemen's Minister of Tourism, Chairman of the Yemen Tourism Promotion Board (YTPB), Vice President of the Arab Tourism Organization and Vice President of the UN World Tourism Organization Commission for the Middle East. He also served as Yemen's Minister of Information and Mass Media. Known for "practicing politics with a scalpel" due to being one of the most successful surgeons in the country as well as an influential orator, he is one of Yemen's most famous political figureheads and led the opposition front during the Arab Spring. He is currently the Chairman of the Southern Civil Democratic Rally (MAGD-SCDR). Mohammed Salim Basindawa ( ar, محمد سالم باسندوة born 4 April 1935) is a Yemeni politician who was Prime Minister of Yemen from 10 December 2011 to 24 September 2014. Background Born in Aden, Basindawa served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1993 to 1994. He was a member of Yemen's ruling party, but resigned in the early 2000s to join the opposition to President Ali Abdullah Saleh as an independent. The National Dialogue Conference (NDC) was a transitional dialogue process held at the Movenpick Hotel in Sanaa, Yemen from March 18, 2013 to January 24, 2014, as part of the Yemeni crisis reconciliation efforts. National Dialogue is a key part of the agreement brokered by the UN and the Gulf Co-operation Council that saw long-time President Ali Abdullah Saleh hand over power to Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi in November 2011 after an uprising. The University of Aden is the first Yemeni university beside Sana'a university at the same year founded in the Republic of Yemen. History The foundation of the College of Education in 1970 and Nasser’s College for Agricultural Sciences in 1972 was the launching point of the University of Aden.
