Bahrain Men's National Handball Team
The Bahrain national handball team is the national handball team of Bahrain and is controlled by the Bahrain Handball Federation. In May of 2021 Aron Kristjánsson returned to his position as head coach, taking over from Halldór Jóhann Sigfússon, who took over in 2020. In January of 2022 Bahrain made it to the final of the 2022 Asian Men's Handball Championship, getting to the final for the fifth time in seven tournaments. 2022 Asian Men's Handball Championship
The 2022 Asian Men's Handball Championship was the 20th edition of the championship, taking place from 18 to 31 January 2022 in Saudi Arabia under the aegis of the Asian Handball Federation (AHF). It was the second time in history that the championship is organised by the Saudi Arabian Handball Federation (SAHF). It also acted as a qualification tournament for the 2023 World Men's Handball Championship, with the top five teams from the championship directly qualifying for the event jointly hosted by Poland and Sweden. Previously the championship was scheduled to be held in Iran, but on 1 September 2021, the AHF decided to move the event to Saudi Arabia due to the spread of COVID-19 in Iran.
