Moggill Ferry
The Moggill Ferry is a cable ferry crossing the Brisbane River between the suburbs of Moggill in Brisbane and Riverview in Ipswich, both in Queensland, Australia. The iconic ferry is owned by Stradbroke Ferries and can carry up to 20 vehicles per crossing. During floods the ferry is often out of service and alternative routes need to be taken by motorists. The ferry is guided across the river by a steel cable which can sometimes lead to boating accidents for the unwary. History A ferry service began operations at the site in 1878 when Cobb & Co coaches provided service between Ipswich and Brisbane. During the 2010–2011 Queensland floods the ferry broke free from its cable guidelines. The suggestion to sink the wayward ferry was raised during the flood crises until the captain and former skipper managed to secure the vessel to the banks of the Brisbane River with ropes. Cobb & Co
Cobb & Co was the name used by many successful sometimes quite independent Australian coaching businesses. The first was established in 1853 by American Freeman Cobb and his partners. The name Cobb & Co grew to great prominence in the late 19th century, when it was carried by many stagecoaches carrying passengers and mail to various Australian goldfields, and later to many regional and remote areas of the Australian outback. The same name was used in New Zealand and Freeman Cobb used it in South Africa. Although the Queensland branch of the company made an effort to transition to automobiles in the early 20th century, high overhead costs and the growth of alternative transport options for mail, including rail and air, saw the final demise of Cobb & Co. Kenmore Bypass
The Kenmore Bypass is a proposal for a major road linking Moggill Road, Pinjarra Hills, with the Centenary Motorway, Kenmore, in Brisbane, Australia. The Proposed Bypass will be in length. Since the 1960s a corridor of land has been set aside for a bypass. This is where the Kenmore bypass will be located if the plans go ahead. Ferry Transport In Queensland

The first ferry started on 1 January 1843 at Russell Street with a service across the Brisbane River.
