MobiTV, Inc. (formerly named Idetic, Inc.) is a provider of live and on-demand video delivery solutions, headquartered in Emeryville, California. MobiTV is a privately held, venture-backed company, and was founded in 1999 by Paul Scanlan, Phillip Alvelda, and Jeff Annison. Charlie Nooney joined the company as CEO and Chairman on October 15, 2007. In 2021, after declaring bankruptcy, Xperi subsidiary TiVo Corporation won an auction to acquire the assets of MobiTV. History MobiTV was the first company to bring live and on-demand TV to mobile devices through partnerships with numerous content providers and carriers such as Sprint and ESPN. Paul Scanlan
Paul Scanlan is an American businessman and the co-founder and CEO of Legion M, a fan-owned entertainment company. Scanlan is also the President and co-founder of MobiTV, an on-demand video streaming service for mobile devices. Education and early career Scanlan graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in communications. He began his career in sales at telecommunications firm Lucent Technologies, Inc. and later co-founded a boutique ad agency. Scanlan was also a managing partner at Enterprise IG (now Brand Union). MobiTV Scanlan partnered with Phillip Alvelda and Jeff Annison to found MobiTV (originally known as Idetic) in 1999. Jeff Annison
Jeff Annison is an American businessperson, and co-founder and president of Legion M, the world's first fan-owned entertainment company. Annison is also the co-founder and CEO of New York Rock Exchange, co-founder and CEO of Underground Labs, and co-founder of MobiTV. Education and early career Annison received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles and began his career designing special effects for theme park rides at Universal Studios, and later designing toys for Hasbro.
