Mob 47
Mob 47 is a hardcore punk band which formed in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1982, originally under the name of "Censur".Peter Jandreus, ''The Encyclopedia of Swedish Punk 1977-1987'', Stockholm: Premium Publishing, 2008, p. 143. In 1983 the band members changed the name to what it's now called, "Mob 47", when singer Mentis entered the band. During their early years they played with the band Anti Cimex. They were influenced by bands such as Discharge, Crucifix, D.R.I., and B.G.K. They have been described as the fastest of the Swedish D-beat groups. Guitarist and founding member Åke formed several other bands after and around the time of Mob 47. The bands Agoni, Röjers, Discard, Crudity, and Protes Bengt were featured with Mob 47 on the ''Stockholm's Mangel'' compilation in 1985. Some with other members of Mob 47, mostly the drummer Chrille. D-beat (also known as Discore, kängpunk, Discrust, and crust-beat) is a style of hardcore punk, developed in the early 1980s by imitators of Discharge, after whom the genre is named, as well as a drum beat characteristic of this subgenre. Crust punk (also known as crust or stenchcore) is a form of music influenced by English punk rock and extreme metal. The style, which evolved in the early 1980s in England, often has songs with dark and pessimistic lyrics that linger on political and social ills. Rosa Honung is a record company started in the early 1980s and focused on punk rock. Rosa Honung existed as a cultural association in the 1970s before being registered as a company. They are notable both for their roster and their feud with Asta Kask where the record company trademarked their name. Rosa Honung also tried to become a publisher to rival STIM. Rosa Honung published records with artists such as Asta Kask, Rolands Gosskör, Tredje Könet, Weaselface, Strebers, Livin' Sacrifice, The Bristles and Incest Brothers as well jazz musicians such as Jan Johansson and Lars Gullin. Anti Cimex were a Swedish crust punk band, based in Skövde, Gothenburg, Linköping, and Malmö, at different times, that formed in 1981.Peter Jandreus, ''The Encyclopedia of Swedish Punk 1977–1987'', Stockholm: Premium Publishing, 2008, p. 20-21. Discharge are an English hardcore punk band formed in 1977 in Stoke-on-Trent, England. The band is known for influencing several sub-genres of extreme music and their songs have been covered by some of the biggest names in heavy metal and other genres. The musical sub-genre of D-beat is named after Discharge and the band's distinctive drumbeat. Crucifix was an American hardcore punk band from the San Francisco Bay Area, active from 1980 to 1984. They were among the most popular acts of the San Francisco punk scene of the early 1980s. Fronted by Cambodian-born singer Sothira Pheng, Crucifix were distinct among American underground bands for their strong D-beat musical characteristics and anarchist lyrical content and graphic design. Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (often abbreviated and referred to as D.R.I.) is an American crossover thrash band that formed in Houston, Texas in 1982.
