The MAMA Awards (formerly Mnet Asian Music Awards) is a major music awards ceremony presented annually by entertainment company CJ E&M. First held in South Korea, the majority of prizes has been won by K-pop artists, although there are other Asian artists winning in various award categories, such as for Best Asian Artist and other professional-related awards. The awards ceremony was first held in Seoul in 1999, being aired on Mnet. 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards
The 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards took place on November 29, 2011, at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore. The ceremony was the second Mnet Asian Music Awards to occur outside of South Korea, the first being in 2010 when the ceremony took place in Macau, China. John Andrew Park (born September 13, 1988) is a Korean-American singer. He was a semi-finalist on the ninth season of ''American Idol''; placing twentieth. He is the runner-up of ''Superstar K2'', a Korean singing contest held by M.net. He is currently signed to Music Farm Entertainment. Huh Gak (; born November 15, 1984) is a South Korean singer. He rose to fame after winning the 2010 Mnet talent competition series ''Superstar K 2,'' during which he became known as "the Korean Paul Potts." Early life and education Huh Gak was born in Incheon, South Korea on November 15, 1984. His parents divorced when he was three years old, and he and his twin brother, Huh Gong, were raised by their father.
